She is I and I am Her

Hello AD648!

My name is Candice Prentiss. I reside in Atlanta, GA, but I am originally from the metro area of Detroit, MI. My parents, brother and most of my extended family are in Michigan. I work for Jacobs Engineering and I am currently a Project Engineer working with the CM/PM group at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. My group works on capital improvement projects at the airport. Our latest accomplishment is building the new rental car center with an automated people mover (APM) on an elevated track. The APM carries car renters between the rental car center and the airport. While closing out that project, I have also begun working on the Noise Insulation Program and several facilities projects. Needless to say, I have a full load, but the diversity of the projects keeps my job challenging and fresh.

During my leisure time, I enjoy independent films, fashion, traveling, music, experimental cooking and oil painting. I hope to one day attend the Sundance film festival in Utah. This is my seventh course in the Boston University MSPM Program, which has been very rewarding thus far. I'm sure this course will not disappoint. Ecommerce is very relevant in my line of work, specifically with the busiest airport in the world and I hope to build upon all of my prior teachings.  I look forward to “meeting” you all! So, post, post away on my blog!

  1. Candice,

I really enjoy the layout of your blog. It looks great. I thought I had already posted a note to your blog but as I went back could not see anything so here I go again.

Just so you know my brother lived in Park City for nearly 20 years...he just moved around the mountain to Midway. The locals always find the film festival to be a very exciting time.

As for your blog, maybe a couple more links of things that interest you. As stated, really nice considering it is your first try as it was for me.

Again, look forward to working with you...sounds like you very busy with life as we all are!!

    Thanks,

    Robert

  3. Happy Birthday! What a great idea to celebrate all year long. I love painting but certainly was not given the gift. I still enjoy observing beauty through others' creations. I enjoyed reading you blog and getting to know a bit about you.

    Best wishes!

  6. Hi Candice,

I really like your blog, you have done a great job. I like the video link of your fifteen minutes of fame and I like your cute little giggle. I can’t recommend anything in particular to add to the page other than to just keep it going. I find it very interesting and I’d like to know some of the things you end up doing for your 30th year. One thing I recommend is to go see the Grand Canyon and hike it if you have the time. You can hike to the bottom and back in a day. Good luck in class and keep up the good work.

    1. Hi John,

My apologies for not clarifying the Today Show video...that was not me in the video. I just wanted to showcase a BU story. I am having difficulty uploading pictures of myself to my blog..I'm still trying though

  7. Hi Candice,
Its nice to meet others who live in Atlanta. I grew up there in Marietta and did my undergraduate at Kennesaw State University. One of the things I would do on my 30th birthday is to plant a tree. I actually did this (actually it was three trees) at a home I owned and now some years later when I travel back through the old neighborhood those three trees have become very large and its nice to know it was something I did on my 30th birthday and its great to see them grow and be healthy.

Looking forward to working with you.

    1. What a great idea Kenneth. I actually just planted tress as a service project on the Martin Luther King holiday. So, I will definitely take you up on your suggestion. We are in the same group for week 2, so I look forward to working with you as well!
